The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems in commercial spaces including Data Center Facilities. The position is responsible for oversight of all selection, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and replacement of electrical components to ensure systems function safely and efficiently that comply with public policy and standards.This positionalso trains and mentors otherelectricians and is responsible for ensuring their effective performance on site at all times.

This position also ensures that electrical work is completed in accordance with design, budget and schedule requirements. May supervise and coordinate various electrical contractors to ensure contract compliance and will supervise and coordinate trade work by electricians.


Provides electrical input for the preparation of a project construction schedule. Advises supervisor of changes that significantly impacts project schedule.
Guides and oversees other apprentices or journeyman electricians. Coaches, trains, and develops electrician personnel.
Monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
Obtains required permits, equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
Prepares and maintains proper reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Informs supervisor of any labor disputes and/or personnel problems that might affect the company.
Schedules and coordinates activities of all subcontractors/vendors.
Reviews and approves all overtime work requests and obtains appropriate security clearances.
Maintains a daily recap of the days events. Reviews with project manager daily.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned.


Ability to travel to and from property locations.
Ability to interface with technology and operate a computer.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of Sabey employees as well as contractors, subcontractors, and tenants.
Ability to supervise and manage journeyman level Electricians this includes maintaining the work schedule, being knowledgeable of people management best practices, and identify potential risks on site.
Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.


A minimum of five (5) years of data center infrastructure experience related to electrical equipment commonly found in a large data center environment
This position requires an active Virginia State Master Electricians license
High school diploma or similar
A valid driver's license
At least 3-5 years of experience as an Electrician
Superb customer service skills
Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication
Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction
Physical strength and stamina
Firm grasp of health and safety codes
Patience when teaching apprentices


Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to coach and develop other electricians
Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits
Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the electricians trade
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below
Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position
Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment
